as the means with which to be of greater service to members

Bereavement Ministry
Our bereavement ministers seek to witness Christ's
love for His flock by sharing with fellow parishioners the
loss of a loved one by their presence... to be available
to assist family and friends in whatever way possible...
and to support the parish community with love and compassion.
When our office is notified of a death, the bereavement ministers
will be contacted and one will call on the family of the
deceased to offer assistance with planning the liturgical

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
Through scripture, prayer and sharing with others,
CRHP provides a wonderful opportunity for men and women to
grow in their faith, get closer to the Lord, and to meet
other parishioners. Currently the women's group hosts about
CRHP weekends each year. For more information, contact Sharon

Family Liturgy
This group of parents is involved in planning
and assisting our Family Liturgy services. Their goal is
to include children in Sunday mass through reading, creative
art work or other activities that reflect the meaning of
the season. Family Liturgies are generally held once each
month at the 9:00 AM mass. Please contact Pam

Finance Council
The council exists to "...involve parishioners
in assuming appropriate stewardship for the spiritual and
financial health of their

Eucharistic Ministers
These men and women serve our parish through the
distribution of Holy Communion at mass. They share the wonderful
gift of Jesus' presence in the lives of many. Pam

Friendship Club
This lively club ministers to the Saint Juliana
seniors community (age 55 +). They meet once each month and
celebrate each other with fellowship, Bingo, guest speakers
and performs and various outings. Contact Joyce

group.
Health Services
Our Health Services Coordinator, Cindy Brennan,
is committed to wellness and healing ministries of our parish.
She facilitates many programs, including blood pressure screening,
the blood drive, American Red Cross baby-sitting training,
and the Health Fair. Cindy can be contacted through the business
office.
Joyful Now
This group is open to any widow or widower of
our parish. Our monthly gatherings include socializing, guest
speakers, and great discussions. We come together with a

Kaleidoscope
Our parish newspaper, it was established to enhance
communication to all parishioners by providing in-depth coverage
of parish events and organizations. It also aims to promote
Christian ideas and values through pertinent articles and
information shared by its editors, reporters, parish staff,
professionals, and parishioner contributions. It is mailed
to more than than 2,700 registered parish households. Contact

article or purchase an advertisement.
Lectors/Commentators
This ministry shares the Word of the Lord through
reading at mass and other liturgical services. This role
also includes commentating at mass and sharing information
through announcements at services. To become a member of

Liturgy Team
This group plans all of the Sunday and special
holy day liturgies celebrated in the parish. They bring together
the theme, readings and music for our many celebrations of
the Eucharist. They also do a wonderful job decorating our
church and chapel. We welcome new members; please contact

Men's Club
This group is primarily a social organization
and it also enjoys contributing to parish causes and supplying
volunteers for parish needs and events. Our primary goal
is to bring together in a spirit of community the men of
the parish, with all their various occupations and age groups.
The club meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30
PM in the school hall. No invitation necessary -- just show
up!
Ministry to the Sick
A group of dedicated men and women who, along
with the priests and deacons, visit private homes, hospitals
and nursing homes; act as Ministers of Communion outside
of
mass; and try to be a bridge to the
whole parish community. Contact our Ministers of Care through business
office to ensure that your
sick, elderly or shut-in family member receives the Church's
Eucharist, prayers and visitations. If you are interested

Music Ministry
Like to sing? Play musical instruments? Join
your fellow parishioners in bringing spiritual sounds to
our community by becoming involved in one of our music
ministry programs.
Order of St. Francis
This group of lay volunteers comes together to
promote living the gospel much in the way St. Francis did.
Members attend mass daily when possible and continuously
look for ways to serve God's poor throughout the world. Through
monthly meetings decisions are made how to best raise funds
and reach those who need it most. Please contact this group

Pastoral Council
Our Parish Pastoral Council is an enthusiastic,
compassionate, faith-filled community participating in the
ministry of the Church.
We are witnesses of the Good News,
and through example and prayer we
live the Gospel message.
Through active listening we strive to
determine and understand the
diverse needs of our parish and
community. We minister to these
needs by inviting and empowering
others to become involved in
meeting the spiritual, temporal and
social needs of all.
We partner with the pastor and staff
to support existing parish life, to
create vision, and to plan for the
future.
Religious Education

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
This program guides adults in beginning or continuing
on their path to becoming fully initiated Roman Catholics.
A candidate for RCIA might be someone who has not been baptized,
was baptized in another Christian tradition, or a baptized
Catholic who has not fully received all three sacraments
of initiation; Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

SPRED (Special Religious Education)
This very active ministry provides guidance and
encouragement to the developmentally disabled young adults
of our parish. Through bi-weekly meetings these young adults
are able to learn about their faith, socialize and feel an
integral part of the parish. Once each month SPRED members
serve at the 10:30 AM mass, allowing them to contribute to

St. Vincent de Paul Society
This is a lay association of volunteers who come
together to enhance their personal spiritual growth and development.
An outgrowth of this spirituality is the acting out of their
faith commitment to serve others, including the needy of
our immediate community, the greater Chicago community and
the Church throughout Chicago. This organization's efforts
are supported through the generosity of Saint Juliana parishioners.

Sunday School
This program is open to 3-, 4- and 5- year old
children. We meet twice monthly from September through April
during the 9:00 AM mass. Religious instruction is presented
in a simple way to Jesus' Little Ones through various age-appropriate
activities through which they can understand more about God,

Ushers
The ushers serve as greeters at mass and other
liturgies, welcome and assisting all who come to celebrate
