Saint Juliana School

Spirit wear orders were sent home today. A few items including the green t-shirts are on back order and will be available next week.

Thanks to the Fine Arts Association Board for sponsoring and facilitating Fine Arts Day at Saint Juliana School on May 4 and 5. The beautiful display of the children's art work was appreciated by parishoners, parents, and students alike. On Monday afternoon, the assembly, "Comedy Sportz" was enjoyed by all the the studnets and teachers. Kudos to all those involved for the "art enriched" experiences!

Dental forms are due on May 15, 2008, for all students currently in kindergarten, second, and sixth grades for the 2007-2008 school year. Dental forms that were completed 18 months prior to May 15, 2008 are acceptable. Medical forms for students entering kindergarten, and/or students new to Saint Juliana for the 2008-2009 school year are due June 1, 2008.

A special thank you to all the teachers in our school who prepare the students to receive the sacraments of Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. In addition, many other people also help to make these events beautiful and prayerful for the children and their families including our priests, deacons, music ministers, servers, the Mothers’ Club in planning the receptions, and the students who volunteer to serve and clean up. We are truly a community that loves and cares for one another.

Parish contribution statements will be sent home Monday, May 5, to families currently billed at the Participating Family tuition rate. Please contact the parish business office (773.631.4127) with any questions about the statements, which cover the period from July 1, 2007 through April 27, 2008.

Families who live more than 1-1/2 miles from school, or who have been previously approved for a transportation safety hazard, may apply to the State of Illinois for reimbursement of qualified transportation expenses. Please download and complete the form and return it to the school office by Friday, June 6, 2008, in order to apply. Copies of the form are also posted next to the school office window.

Please note there was a misprint in the parish Summer Newsletter that was recently mailed. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 27, not August 22, as indicated.

Lynn will be selling Cash-and-Carry TRIP certificates at the April Mothers' Club meeting, as well as taking orders, so be sure to bring your checkbook!

On behalf of all the students, "Thank You!" to everyone who participated in the Mothers' Club night at Barnes and Noble. In addition to the funds that were raised, almost 60 books were donated to the school library. The Kamka, O'Connor, and Broderick families were the lucky winners of the gift card raffle!

Just a friendly reminder that orders for this month's Market Day are due this Monday, April 21st. You may order on-line until noon or turn your order forms into school or the Parish Center by 2pm. The order pick-up day is Thursday, April 24. Thank you for supporting us with your Market Day order. ***The May sale will be the last one until August 28.
