Where did the year go? Seems like we were just getting acquainted and had to say goodbye to sixth grade and hello to Junior High!
Thank you to all who contributed to the end of year gift. Thank you also to Mothers Club for their generous gift. Thanks especially to all the students and parents for their gifts and support throughout the year.
Have a safe and relaxing summer!

Tomorrow we will meet with our Kindergaren reading buddies for the last time. We will be making little certificates for them and bringing in treats. If your child wishes to send a treat, please remember that there are 39 children total.
I am requested all 6th grade homeroom moms to help with an ice cream party next Thursday afternoon. This is our annual "thank you" to the 6th graders for their diligent work with the barricades all year. I will speak to Mrs. Barton about getting you reimbursed for the goodies. We will need ice cream and all of the fixings for ice cream sundaes. The children will also be treated to a movie.
Homework:
Math 5th: p. 354 Set P and Q
Math 6th: Study Guide and Practice 10-4
Reading: Read 46-48
Spelling: First two pages of Unit 23 due tomorrow
Religion: worksheet due

Next Wednesday we will have a year-end celebration with our Kindergarten reading buddies. If students wish to bring a treat, please keep in mind there are 40 students total.

Greetings! Happy Belated Mother's Day to all Moms and caregivers!
Just wanted to let you know that Progress Reports went home with students today. Attached is an Accelerated Reader slip showing the number of points (or lack thereof) your child has accumulated so far. Please be aware that these totals (number of points and total comprehension %) count as two test scores respectively in Reading. While time is given every day for silent reading, it is the student's responsibility to read independently as well. Please sign the Report and initial the AR slip and have your child return by Wednesday.

Greetings! Happy Spring! The warm weather is finally creeping in, and we're really glad to spend some time outdoors again. If you have a bouncy ball or some chalk to spare, we could use it for recess.
We've been reading Holes in room 23 and really enjoying it. We're also planning for Junior Achievement day on Thursday morning. The students do learn a lot about business and the world around them through these volunteers.
Homework:
Math 5th: p. 303, 9-27 all
Math 6th: Group 2 p. 335 4-12 all
Spelling: Unit 20, first two pages
Reading: Read Chapters 19-20 in Holes, Quiz on Friday
Please make sure your child has an ample supply of paper, erasable pens, etc. to get him/her through the rest of the year. Students are beginning to come with nothing, and the school year isn't quite over yet.
Please remember to bring in a magazine or newspaper or game to recycle so our class can reach 100% participation in the recycling program. To date, only two students have brought anything in.
Happy belated birthday to Emily Toomey (15th) and Luke Turlan (16th)!
