If you like to try and figure out logical thinking problems, then Quinn would be the person to see. He gave us 9 circles and said to connect them all using only 4 lines. Well, we tried and tried and didn't figure it out so Quinn said, "Think outside the box." That's exactly how it works. Ask your child to show you. Thanks, Quinn.

The long-awaited results are in. Be sure to sign the envelope the results came in and send it back to school. The results show a percentile and it is explained on the sheet. It means that if 100 students took the test, then your child would likely score better than a certain amount and not as well as another amount. Example: If your child scored a 64 percentile, that means that for a given 100 students, your child would score better than 63 of the 100 and lower than 36 of the 100. Remember also that it is a day in the life of your child.

Reading - Study the vocab. from "Pure Power" and reading an ad. Also, begin studying the vocab. from the unit. We will be beginning our unit test this week on Wednesday.

We have been talking about resources and how to conserve them. The Museum of Science and Industry opened an exhibit today where they have created an energy efficient and recycled environment. Go to the website msichicago.org and take a look at the new exhibit. You can read about the many things they did to make it a place where you might want to live some day. Enjoy the tour!
