Mrs. Christine Boldt » Welcome

Welcome

Greetings! My name is Chris Boldt, and I teach Jr. High English. Please subscribe to my blog via clicking my name on the St. Juliana website for homework assignments, quiz and test dates, and homeroom news. You can also contact me via email - [email protected]

My teaching philosophy is that learning is not a “one and done.”  It is a life-long journey, and school is the place to try and try again!  I strive to be a “confidence builder” for all of my students by supporting them in becoming the best version of themselves academically and beyond.

The students can count on me todo EVERYTHING I can to help them be successful in their writing and grammar skills by presenting  interesting activities that challenge them and providing assistance in the following ways
- During class, “smart kids ask questions…”
- Review Forums at 7:30 am: 6th,- Tuesdays, 8th- Wednesdays, 7th- Thursdays
- Individual help if students sign up on the “English 911 Helpline”

Throughout the school year, we will cover g
rammar skills and usage: weekly spiraled Daily Language Review (DLR) practices and Friday quizzes and a study of grammar concepts in the textbook. In addition, the students will have a wide-range of writing experiences: Descriptive, Informative/Expository, Fictional Narrative, Reflective Narrative, Persuasive. Our writing motto is “WRITE & REVISE”: students are encouraged to revise their writing assignments for extra points. English homework, quizzes, tests, and projects will be graded on a point system, and extra credit opportunities are available:-writing center activities, monthly word puzzles, and printing out of additional writing activities to place in writing portfolio.

Gym Class News...

Next week the PE students will be walking to and from Brooks Park for classes. All students have to wear their PE uniforms (long pants). Please check the weather on the days your child has PE. If it is going to be chilly, please send your child to school wearing a jacket and if necessary gloves and a hat. Please remind your child that they represent St. Juliana and they are expected to walk on the sidewalk and be respectful to community members at the park.

Tomorrow's Yearbook Photos

Hello everyone!

We will be having Athletic and Student Activity pictures taken on Tuesday, March 5th following a morning of 8th Grade Graduation/Group pictures.

We have not taken these photos since pre-Covid so we ask for some patience on this day.

Please inform your students and families that they should come to school dressed in their team/activity uniform.

Athletics should wear their team uniform(s). Student Activities should wear school/scout uniform(s).

(If the Musical Cast and Crew have their special shirts, they are welcome to wear them.)

If a student participates in multiple sports/activities, they should come to school wearing the uniform for their FIRST sport/activity on the schedule and BRING the others to change into.

Please allow your students time to change for their next photo after their previous photo is taken so they are ready.

The following list is a general idea of how students will be called down for pictures. It can be shared with students so they know which sport/activity they should come to school already dressed for and which to bring for changing into.
