THE CHOSEN SERIES IS COMING TO A THEATER NEAR YOU IN OUR PARISH OFFICE
- The Chosen’s primary focus is on the lives of Jesus’ first followers and how their lives changed after their encounter with Him. As such, the series provides an excellent framework for us to witness, discuss, and grow in discipleship.
- Each week we will examine how God was at work in the lives of others through Scripture (in our opening prayer, and then in the episode). Then, we will reflect on how God is at work in our own lives (in small group discussion and individual reflection).
- While the series is based on events that took place 2,000 years ago, it challenges us to ask ourselves the same question as the first disciples – how will our encounter with Jesus transform our lives?
- Disclaimer: The series is inspired by and based on Scripture, but also tells a fictional story between the lines (e.g., fictional character backstories based on the historical context at the time of Jesus). In doing so, the series allows viewers to see and relate to Jesus’ first followers in a new way. We hope that as you encounter these characters, you’ll develop a new curiosity about the life of Jesus and His first followers, and a greater desire and understanding of how to follow Him.
Starting in June we will preview the movie, reflect and discuss.
