Welcome to Mrs. Doherty's 2nd Grade, Room 32!

Hello!  Welcome to 2nd grade!  My name is Liz Doherty and I am looking forward to working with your child this year.  We have an exciting year planned and we are already off and running!  I can be reached best through my email at, ldoherty@stjuliana.org.  I check emails during school hours when possible.  You can also write a note in your child’s folder.  We're going to have a great year together!

Tuesday's Homework

There is no homework today! We had a Day of Service.


We started with an All-School Prayer Service. We did various activities including: making Easter cards with our 8th Grade Buddies, making placemats and cards for others, sorted donation items for Cradles to Crayons, and watched kindness videos. 


*Tomorrow - If you want to purchase one freeze pop tomorrow at lunch, bring in $1 and the money goes to 8th grade.

Spelling/Reading - There are no Backpack Pages this week or Spelling test.


Math - Flashcards and pages 141+142.


Communion - Chapter 6’s project is due by Wednesday, April 1st.  Please use the paper provided and draw the Last Supper. At the top write, The Last Supper, neatly in marker. Carefully draw Jesus and the 12 disciples (no stick figures) in pencil and neatly color in with crayons or colored pencils.  Jesus should be in the middle and 6 disciples on each side. Write your name on the front bottom right hand corner


Tomorrow - All School Spirit Wear and Day of Service.


Thursday - 11:30 Dismissal and Spring Break begins!

Communion - Chapter 5’s project is coming home and due by Wednesday, 3/25. Write the Morning Prayer on the paper provided neatly in pencil first and trace over in a thin marker. The Morning Prayer is, God our Father, I offer you today all that I think and do and say. I offer it with what was done on earth by Jesus Christ your Son. Amen  

The prayer is also written on the attached paper. When finished, punch two holes at the top of the paper and tie yarn/string so that it can be hung on your bedroom doorknob.  



Tomorrow - Wear Red for St. Joseph’s Day

All proceeds will go toward covering graduation costs, including caps and gowns, class t-shirts, and other essential expenses. Communion - Chapter 4’s project, “God’s Word Takes Root in Us,”  is due by Wednesday, March 18th.  Use the top paper as a guide. On the white construction paper, write “God’s Word Takes Root in Us” at the top in pencil then trace in marker.  Draw the flowers on the white construction paper and the lines. On the lines, write things that you can do to be a good person (help my parents, share my things, etc…)
