Protecting Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults

Before becoming involved with any ministry, all church/school employees and volunteers age 18 and older must successfully complete the following requirements. Anyone under age 18 is prohibited from working with children or vulnerable adults without the presence and direct supervision of an authorized adult.

1.  VIRTUS Training
 
All volunteers must attend VIRTUS Training.  Please register an account in VIRTUS, please decipher beteen Saint Juliana Parish or Saint Juliana School.  If you are unsure please reach out to the program administrators.  New volunteers need to register for a class. If you have already attended a class you must continue to read the monthly training bulletins that are sent to your email.  To register for a class and to read training bulletins go to www.virtusonline.org.  For further instructions click the link below:
2.  Background Check  
 
If you interact with minors you will need to complete a background check. Your background check will be completed through your Virtus account.    
 
3.  CANTS Form
 
The CANTS form for the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services needs to be completed each fall and turned into the program administrator at the church or school. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL TO DCFS. 
4.  Standards of Behavior
 
Please print the form below, read, sign, and return it to the school office. 
5. Mandated Reporter Training  
 

Every volunteer will need to go to the DCFS training website and complete the Mandated Reporter Training. Please print, complete and return CANTS22 to the school or parish office with your Mandated Reporter Training certificate of completion. This training needs to be completed every three years.
