Invest in Kids Act

In August 2017 the state of Illinois enacted a comprehensive education funding law that provides for tax credit scholarships which offer strong incentives for donors to support non-public school scholarships for low-income students. Illinois students from low-income families may use these scholarships to attend a non-public school of their choice.

Donations and distributions of tax credit scholarships are managed through independent, 501(c)(3) scholarship granting organizations (SGOs). The Archdiocese of Chicago has selected Empower Illinois as its preferred SGO, however donors and families may transact through any SGO certified by the State of Illinois.
