Girl Scouts

girl scoutGirl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Daisy: Grades K–1 meet in groups with two or more leaders in a nurturing inclusive environment. Daisies make new friends, create, learn and explore the arts and their communities and earn Petal Patches based on the Girl Scout Law. Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 3:00pm-4:30pm.

Brownie: Grades 2–3 work in groups, earn Try-its, and learn new skills. Friendship, fun and age-appropriate activities begin at meetings and move out to the community and the wider world. Meeting: Troop 1364 meets the 3rd Thursday of every month, 3:00pm-4:30pm. Troop 1384 meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 3:00pm-4:30pm.

Junior: Grades 4–5 earn badges and discover what girl power is all about by taking responsibility for their programs. They gain self-confidence as they try new activities and explore the world in partnership with their troop/group leaders. Meetings: Troop 839 meets the 4th Monday of every month, 2:50pm-4:30pm. Troop 1566 meets the 2nd Thursday of every month 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Cadette: Under the guidance of a trained adult adviser, girls in grades 6–8 mix and match activities and resources to suit their needs while giving back to their communities. Working on a range of projects, they connect with each other, build self-esteem, gain confidence and learn life skills. Meetings: Troop 688 meets the 4th Tuesday of every month, 3:45pm-6:00pm. Troop 647 meets the 4th Thursday of every month 2:00pm-5:00pm and Troop 1506 meets the 3rd Thursday of every month, 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Gatherings: Once a month, all levels participate in an outing such as “girl’s night out”, father/daughter dance, or mother/daughter luncheon.

Participation: Parents/guardians as well as adult parishioners are welcome to apply for membership as scout leaders.
