Week of September 11, 2023

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend.

I usually post on my blog every week with any announcements, tests, etc...If there is something that parents need to know that comes up during the week, I will post that.

6th Religion: we had our first test last week and most of the students did great. We will be starting a new chapter this week.

7th Religion:
Chapter 1 test tomorrow.
I will be sending home information about the Confirmation retreat (September 24) tomorrow. There is a page that needs to be returned to me with your signature. I usually do this when something important is sent home so that I know it actually made it home. Welcome to our world of junior high!!!

8th Religion: starting a new chapter this week.
Loyola shadow day is this Thursday. You do not need to call your students in because we have the papers that were sent home with the shadow days listed. We do that so that we know exactly who is shadowing and then  you don't have to call them in.

Thank you in advance to some students who will be helping next Saturday with the Mothers' Club mum sale. Service to our parish and community is a big part of junior high. I offer service opportunities to all of our students whenever there is an opportunity. Service is not just part of the 7th grade Confirmation program (service is required for that). I tell the kids that we do service not because it's required--we do it because that's who we are.

Back to School night is this Thursday. Ms. Arianas and I will meet with 8th grade parents at 6:45 in my classroom (room 15) for a quick meeting. This is not mandatory but if you are coming to Back to School Night, it's a good time to just touch base about 8th grade activities, etc.. It is also a chance to answer any questions that you might have. Like I said, this is certainly not mandatory--just a chance to touch base. Thank you.

It's hard to believe that we're starting our 4th week of school. Things have been going very well and I look forward to a great year with your sons and daughters.
