Social Studies
6th Grade - -We examined artifacts to understand how social scientists interpret the past. - We learned about the different hominin groups and what helped each group survive. Next week: The Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages Coming up: Quest (big quiz/small test) and notebook check on September 14. |
7th Grade - We studied the first Americans and learned how they adapted to their environment. - We gained a better understanding of Native American culture in a myth-busting activity. Next week: European exploration of the Americas |
8th Grade - We examined the impact of railroads, mining, and agriculture on the settlement of the West. - We learned who settled the West and why they settled. Next week: The impact of Westward Expansion on Native Americans |
